The premium Rock & Republic denim brand, known for their signature "R" emblazoned back pockets, is coming to Kohl's next year.
The budget-friendly department store bought the exclusive rights to the edgy brand from VF Corporation, which will continue to manufacture Rock & Republic denim, tops and footwear to be sold exclusively at Kohl's stores and online at Kohls.com beginning Spring 2012.
Despite the brand's popularity, Rock & Republic fell on hard times and filed for bankruptcy back in 2010. VF, maker of such brands as Ella Moss, Splendid, North Face and 7 for All Mankind, bought the struggling label in March.
I'm eager to see the upcoming Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony collection for Kohl's, and I'll definitely be interested in seeing what Rock & Republic for Kohl's can deliver. My personal style isn't "rocker chic" but we can all use some edgy pieces to mix into our wardrobes now and then.
