Hermes Scarves Get Personal at New Flagship Store

If you’ve stopped by the New York City Hermes flagship store located at 691 Madison Avenue lately, you’ve likely noticed a few changes. In fact, not only has the jewelry been moved closer to the multi-level boutique’s entrance, but just this week, the house celebrated the opening of its newly expanded floor dedicated to its emblematic Silk Carre and accessory products.

Hermes Carre The 2,100 square-foot floor features an extensive assortment of Hermes accessories, ranging from the latest silk scarf designs and limited-edition products to classic “H” belts, enamel bracelets, gloves, and fragrances. If the latest news about Hermes’ battle with LVMH has shown us anything, it’s that Hermes likes to keep things in the family, so it’s fitting that the new space was designed by RDAI, the Parisian architectural agency founded by Rena Dumas, an Hermes family member.
The most exciting part of the newly revamped space, however, is that the brand has introduced a customization and personalization service called the Custom Silk Corner. Starting at $15 per letter, you can customize one of four silk scarves, the 90 cm silk twill scarf, 70 cm vintage silk scarf, "Gavroche" pocket square, and "Twilly" silk ribbon, by choosing from a selection of significant life events: Birth and Childhood, Birthday celebrations, Love and Marriage, Graduation, and Mother's Day. The new service offers 17 scarf designs, a total of 54 colorations, 30 colors of silk yarn, and 2 typographies for you to choose from to personalize the scarf with initials, a date, a place, an event, or a special message. Depending on the design, coloration, and motif chosen, it takes just one to two weeks to get the resulting scarf. If you didn't want an Hermes scarf before...
